The February school break is a busy period for NHS services and it is important that people use the right service when they are ill or injured.
Dr Navin Kumta, Chair of NHS Ashford Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “There is nothing more frustrating than not knowing what to do when you or your children are poorly.
“That is why we are reminding parents and carers in east Kent of an innovative NHS service to help you find the right treatment, especially when you are not sure what to do or who to contact.
“The ground-breaking Health Help Now web app, which has been used more than 100,000 times, can guide you to the service that will help you best.
“It can help you find out what to do if you have a baby with a high temperature, a child who is being sick or has hurt themselves or a teenager who is feeling low.”
Developed by Kent and Medway GPs, hospital doctors, paramedics and other health professionals, Health Help Now – www.healthhelpnow-nhs.net – is free to use. It can also be downloaded to your iPhone or Android phone. Just search for Health Help Now on Google Play or the App Store.
It has tailored advice for different age groups, and shows the nearest services and whether they are open or closed, with directions. It can help you find out if you need to see a doctor, pharmacist or use a minor injuries service.
There is information and advice for people of all ages. All you need to do is put in your symptoms, age bracket and postcode and let Health Help Now do the rest.
