Nepalese Community Appeal for Help

Yesterday evening, a few of us attended a beautiful candlelit vigil arranged by our local Nepalese community. They have asked us to share their appeal for help. Many of them have lost friends and family in the Nepalese earthquake that occurred on Saturday. Many of them are still desperately waiting on news of their loved ones. Conditions are awful, with survivors homeless and in desperate need of help. (more…)

Vigil for victims of the Nepal earthquake

A vigil will be held in Ashford tonight to pay respects to the victims of the Nepal earthquake disaster.

The event has been organised by hospital worker Kamala Gurung, from the town, and will take place in Victoria Park, off Jemmett Road, at 6pm.

Members of the Nepalese community will gather at the park to light candles and pray for those who have died, been injured or affected by the catastrophic earthquake.
