Community forums represent the urban areas of Ashford not covered by Civil Parishes. Parish councils with titles of ‘community council’ were created for South Willesborough and Newtown and for Kennington in 2019. The areas covered by each of the community forums other than South Ashford and community councils are:
Central Ashford Community Forum
The area bounded by the M20 to the North, the Ashford Canterbury railway line to the East, the London Dover railway line to the south and the borders of the parishes of Great Chart & Singleton, Hothfield and Westwell to the West
North Willesborough Community Forum
The area to the East of the Ashford to Canterbury railway line and North of Ashford to Dover railway line and Aylesford Stream and enclosed by parish boundaries of Wye to the North and Mersham to the West.
South Willesborough and Newtown Community Council
A Community Council was created for South Willesborough and Newtown in 2019. It serves the area to the South of Aylesford Stream and the Ashford to Dover railway line and East of the Ashford to Hastings railway line enclosed by the boundaries of parishes of Sevington and Kingsnorth.
Kennington Community Council
A Community Council was created for Kennington in 2019. It serves the area bounded by the Ashford Canterbury railway line to the East, the M20 to the South and the boundaries of Westwell to the west and Boughton Lees and Wye to the North
Note: Kennington Community Forum will be dissolved on 31st March 2018 to make way for the formation of a shadow parish council on 31st May 2018, in preparation for the creation of a full Parish Council after elections in May 2019.
