Residents in an Ashford neighbourhood are being warned after a man posing as a window cleaner stole cash from a house.
The man called at a number of addresses in the Cygnet Way area on the afternoon of Friday 10 July offering to clean windows.
One household took up his offer and after he had been invited in to fetch some water to clean the windows, they noticed a purse was missing from their living room. By the time they noticed the purse had gone, the man had left the area.
Suspect
The suspect is described as white man aged 35 to 40, of stocky build, with short, dark brown hair and a moustache. He had a long face and lots of tattoos on his neck. He was wearing long blue shorts with red stripes down the sides and a pink faded top with bands around the arms.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective Constable Robert Goodban on 101 quoting crime ref: ZY/20942/15.
Alternatively, if you have information but would prefer to remain anonymous, please call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Advice
Beware of strangers who turn up unannounced offering services or claiming to be working for utility companies as they might be trying to trick their way into your home to steal valuables and money.
If in doubt – keep them out!
