Quinn Estates are proposing 622 apartments and 22 houses on the “Powergen” site that comprises most of the undeveloped land either side of Victoria Way.
An exhibition was held in County Square on 26th October but, unfortunately, timing led to many who were affected not being able to visit the exhibition.

Some displays were split across two boards; we have combined those with plans into a single sheet but this does show minor discrepancies at the join line.
This was not advertised in anyway. I live in the area and walk alot through here there is a lot of wildlife here and would love to know what is going to be done about it.
The developer will need to undertake an ecological assessment as part of the planning submission.
I cannot see from the documents where all these residents are going to park – 600 -1200 parking places required. It is beyond naive to assume they will only use the buses and trains. The roads to the south of the proposed development are already full of commuters and shop workers parking all day. With the other developments planned just to the north – cinema, restaurants, (again with insufficient parking), this will kill the town centre as, if shoppers cannot find convenient and reasonable parking, they will go elsewhere.
Parking is at ground level, the lowest flats being built at first floor to reduce flood risk. There is no mention of the number of spaces. From memory the Zedhomes scheme had reduced parking provision based on location and proposals for an on-site car sharing (hourly rental) scheme.

An Application for EIA screening has been submitted 15/00010/EIA/AS
This is an application asking the council whether or not any future planning application needs to include an Environmental Impact Assessment when/if it is submitted or the scope of any future assessment. It is not a planning application and the planning merits of the proposal will not be considered.
The decision of the council is limited by the requirements of the EIA Regulations. The parish council and local residents are not consulted on EIA applications but will be if a planning application is made in the future.
