Christmas Recycling & Refuse Collections 2015/16

During the festive period, your recycling and refuse collections may take place on different days. Check our calendar below – and read on for tips on how to recycle more this Christmas!

Normal collections resume on Monday 11 January.

All refuse and recycling should be out for collection by 6am over Christmas and New Year. Please note collections may take place up to one day later than shown, with possible extra collections on Saturdays.

There will be NO garden or bulk collections for two weeks; w/c 28/12/2015 and w/c 04/01/2016 (except for those due for collection on Friday 25 December, which will be collected on Monday 28 December instead).

Don’t forget!

Put those broken Christmas lights, any electrical items or decorations in a plastic carrier bag (or equivalent), on top of your refuse bin, and we will take them away!

Ashford’s Household Waste and Recycling Centre

in Brunswick Road, Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate will be open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Christmas tree recycling

If you aren’t keeping your living tree, please take it to Ashford’s Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate.

If you subscribe to our garden recycling service, you can place your cut up living tree in your brown wheeled bin and we will collect it. To sign up to our fortnightly garden recycling collection service visit www.ashford.gov.uk/gardenrecycling

Or why not support Pilgrims Hospices by signing up to their Treecycling service, which covers the whole borough on 9 and 10 January, when residents can have their tree collected in return for a donation of their choice. What better way to support your local hospice this festive season!

Garden recycling and bulky item collections

Please note, as stated on your garden recycling collection calendars there will be NO garden waste or bulky item collections over the festive period; w/c 28/12/2015 and 04/01/2016*. Normal collections resume on Monday 11 January.

*except for those due for collection on Friday 25 December, which will be collected on Monday 28 December instead.

Clinical collections

The clinical collection service will operate each Monday as normal.
Please place your boxes/bags of clinical waste out Monday 28 December and Monday 4 January as per normal.
