Community Council recommended for South Ashford
Ashford Borough Council propose that Community Councils are formed for South Ashford and the other unparished areas of urban Ashford in Draft Recommendations resulting from their Community Governance Review.

Community Council for South Ashford
South Ashford Community Forum (SACF) have submitted a proposal to Ashford Borough Council) for creation of a local council for South Ashford. The proposal, submitted in response to a consultation being undertaken by the Borough Council as part of a Community Governance Review is available from the Forum’s website: southashford.org.uk/index.php/about-us/publications/.
The Borough Council will consider SACF’s proposal alongside others received, then publish their draft recommendations in August 2015 for further consultation.
Proposal for Community Council for South Ashford
South Ashford Community Forum (SACF) in common with other community forums, is currently preparing a submission for Stage One of the Community Governance Review being undertaken by Ashford Borough Council (ABC).

Why are you not represented by a local council?
As a result of the history of local government in Ashford, 40% of the all voters in the Borough of Ashford; that is approximately 2/3rds of voters in the urban area of Ashford, do not get the advantages of being represented by a local council.
