AIMREC Planning Application submitted

AIMREC imageAn application has been submitted for the model railway centre to be constructed on the site of the Klondyke Works, on the Newtown side of the Ashford to Hastings railway line.

The centre, referred to as Ashford International Model Railway Education Centre (previously Ashford International Model Railway Excellence Centre) has featured in the local press due to the support it is receiving from celebrities. Although regarded as a valuable visitor attraction for Ashford, concern is being expressed by local residents due to the potential for it to exacerbate traffic problems in the area.

The Application can be viewed on the Ashford Borough Council website. Comments can be made until 27th December.
